Un intimo ritratto sull'anzianità.

L'attività quotidiana di un'anziana signora (Gilda M.) svelata con metodo durante un'ordinaria domenica di fine estate. Con stile simmetrico ed essenziale (attraverso l'uso dello split screen), la cinepresa indaga sulle radicate abitudini della donna, scrutandone le azioni esclusivamente dalle pareti domestiche, nell'arco temporale di una giornata. Dai preparativi per la Santa Messa domenicale alla sistemazione del letto, passando alla consumazione di un modico pasto, mentre in sottofondo, la voce della TV accompagna il tempo (attraverso documentari e notiziari di attualità), fino all'ora in cui Gilda M. è pronta per tornare a coricarsi. E in questo momento di contemplazione interiore, fatto di speranze e timori, davanti alle foto dei propri cari possiamo percepire il profondo valore di una vita, con il suo carico di gioie e sofferenze. Nell'attesa di un nuovo giorno, l'abbandono al sonno apre il varco dei ricordi, floridi e spensierati come quelli della prima giovinezza. C'è un tempo per gli anziani, in cui è possibile tornare bambini..

The daily activity of an elderly woman (Gilda M.) is shown during an ordinary Sunday in late summer. With symmetrical and essential style (through the use of the split screen), the camera investigates on the ingrained habits of the woman, showing the actions exclusively from the home, in the space of a day. From the preparations for the Sunday Mass to the arrangement of the bed and to the consuption of a modest meal, while in the background, the voice of the TV accompanies the time (through documentaries and current affairs news), until the time when Gilda M she is ready to go back to bed. And in this moment of inner contemplation, of hopes and fears, in front of photos of loved ones we can perceive the profound value of a life, with its load of joys and sufferings. Waiting for a new day, the abandonment to sleep opens the way to memories, flourishing and carefree like those of early youth.There is a time for the elderly, where it is possible become children again.
